Social Engagement

Creating a Better World Together Through Sport – Join Us in Meaningful Action

The Olympic Committee of Israel views social engagement as a central pillar of the Olympic values. Guided by the belief that sport has the power to connect, inspire, and create positive change, the Olympic Committee actively promotes community involvement and encourages members of the Olympic family to take part in diverse, meaningful social initiatives that strengthen Israeli society. Among these initiatives:

Olympic Stars Shine
Activities with children and youth at the Sports Center for Children and Adolescents at Meir Medical Center, focusing on promoting a healthy lifestyle, encouraging adapted physical activity, and providing fun and challenging sporting experiences.
Volunteering takes place by prior arrangement on Sundays and Thursdays between 16:00 and 20:00 at Meir Medical Center in Kfar Saba.

Olympic Days for Orphans
As part of our collaboration with the Organization of Widows and Orphans, and within the framework of the “Otzma” (Strength) Camp, we hold special and inspiring Olympic Days featuring stations of Olympic and Paralympic sports.
These events are particularly meaningful, offering participants a sense of empowerment, connection, and renewed strength.

The Beach, the Sea, and the Olympic Spirit
EcoOcean is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting the marine and coastal environment through research, education, and community engagement.
Our partnership includes guided beach-cleaning days with short environmental talks, distribution of suitable equipment, and professional guidance. These activities are held on beaches throughout Israel, promoting environmental awareness and mutual responsibility.
Activities are divided into special Peak Days led by the Olympic Committee of Israel and ongoing volunteer days organized by the association.

Being Israeli Means Giving

As part of the values and social strategy led by the Olympic Committee of Israel, the Olympic Classes in schools across the country regularly take part in community volunteering initiatives in collaboration with the Latet (To Give) organization.

Through these activities, the young athletes actively contribute to nationwide food collection campaigns, helping pack boxes filled with essential goods for elderly individuals and families in need. The students also take part in raising awareness and encouraging customers at supermarket branches to purchase and donate non-perishable food items, promoting a culture of mutual responsibility and compassion.

The collaboration between Latet and the Olympic Committee of Israel is a meaningful and ongoing partnership, highlighting the Olympic values of solidarity, generosity, and community involvement. The students of the Olympic Classes are always received with warmth and enthusiasm, embodying the spirit of giving that lies at the heart of Israeli society and the Olympic Movement alike.

Sport Is in My Soul

The Olympic Committee of Israel, in collaboration with the “Ze BeNafshi” (It’s in My Soul) organization, has joined forces in a unique initiative taking place within psychiatric wards for children and adolescents. The program aims to raise awareness and reduce stigma surrounding mental health through the power of personal connection and the inspiration of sport.

Throughout the year, young patients meet with Olympic and elite athletes from a variety of sports disciplines who share their personal journeys — including moments of achievement as well as experiences of struggle, resilience, and growth. These heartfelt encounters offer the children and teens encouragement, perspective, and inspiration, demonstrating how perseverance and self-belief can turn challenges into strength, both in sport and in life.
