Olympism Program for the Olympic Class
The Olympic Class is a groundbreaking educational framework — the first of its kind in Israel — initiated by Olympic medalist Arik Zeevi, with the support and guidance of the Olympic Committee of Israel. This unique program enables talented young athletes to pursue excellence both in competitive sport and in their academic studies.
As a specialized program, the school recognizes the unique needs of student-athletes who dedicate significant time and effort to their athletic development and provides an environment that allows them to do so. The class schedule is adapted to fit the athletes’ training routines in five individual Olympic sports, with students beginning their day twice a week with morning training sessions and arriving at school later in the day.
The program is developed in collaboration with the relevant sports associations, ensuring that athletes’ training schedules are professionally synchronized.
In addition to the athletic framework, the curriculum includes a weekly “Olympic Hour”, led by the Olympic Committee of Israel, as part of the Olympism Education Program. This hour features mental coaching, workshops on nutrition and injury prevention, inspirational lectures, and enrichment sessions on Olympic topics — all designed to cultivate understanding and appreciation of Olympic ideals through active and experiential learning.
Olympism Talent Development Program in the Arab Community
As part of its ongoing mission to promote inclusion and excellence through sport, the Olympic Committee of Israel has launched a groundbreaking Olympism Program within the Israeli-Arab community.
The initiative reflects the Committee’s vision to identify and nurture young athletic talent, strengthen the culture of sport and Olympic values within the Israeli-Arab community, and create meaningful pathways for youth to pursue high-performance sport at the national level.
As part of the program, selected students participate in training sessions two to three times a week in the sport for which they were chosen, held during afternoon hours. Alongside their athletic training, they also take part in an Olympism educational program within the school, reflecting the program’s holistic approach that combines academic and athletic excellence and the development of personal values and discipline.
Through collaboration with local authorities, national sports bodies, and educational institutions, the program aims to empower the next generation of Israeli-Arab athletes, inspire active participation in Israeli sport, and foster a sense of pride, unity, and belonging through athletic achievement.
Beyond its athletic goals, the program serves as a bridge between communities, promoting solidarity, mutual respect, and social cohesion across Israeli society. By bringing together young people from diverse backgrounds through shared Olympic values, it strengthens the sense of connection and common purpose that sport uniquely inspires.
At its core, this initiative embodies the Olympic Committee’s long-term aspiration: to see a ana Israeli-Arab athlete proudly represent Israel on the Olympic team, symbolizing diversity, opportunity, and shared excellence.
Olympism in the Periphery
The Olympism in the
Periphery program is a pioneering educational initiative led by the Olympic Committee of Israel, designed to bring the spirit and values of Olympism to the geographic periphery. Rooted in the Olympic philosophy that views sport as a way of life, the program emphasizes excellence, respect, and friendship as guiding principles for personal and community growth.
Through training in two Olympic sports — judo and baseball — alongside educational workshops, special activity days, and inspirational encounters with Olympic athletes, the program offers children and youth in the region an opportunity to discover sport as a source of resilience, belonging, and aspiration.
Olympism in the Periphery aims to connect the outskirts of Israeli society to the heart of the Olympic Movement, creating bridges of inspiration and inclusion, and empowering every child to strive for excellence — in sport, in school, and in life.
