Sochi 2014

The 22nd Winter Olympics in 2014 were chosen to be hosted for the first time in its history by Russia, in the city of Sochi.

The games were held in two different venues. One on the Black Sea coast in the Adler district, on the border with Georgia, and the other in Krasnaya Polyana in the Caucasus Mountains, about 48 km outside the city of Sochi.

Between the two complexes, a light rail line was specially built for the games.

The Israeli delegation to the games included 5 athletes who competed in three disciplines – figure skating, alpine skiing, and short track speed skating.
