Salt Lake City 2002
The 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City – For the third time in its history, Israel sent a delegation to the Winter Olympic Games.
The delegation that year consisted of 5 athletes who competed in figure skating, and for the first time in its history, also a representative in speed skating.
Figure skating – Galit Chait and Sergei Sakhnovski, Natalia Gudina and Alexei Beletski (Ice dancing)
Short track speed skating – Olga Danilov
In the games that year, 77 countries and 2,399 athletes (886 women) from various disciplines participated.
As per tradition, the head of the delegation and the driving force behind it was once again Yossi Goldberg, of blessed memory, who established the Canada Center in Metula.
