As part of the strategy and values led by the Olympic Committee in Israel and in preparation for Passover, the Olympic classes from the Ironi D Yitzhak Shamir School in Tel Aviv and the Arens School in Petah Tikva, volunteered for a food collection campaign for the “Latet” (To Give) organization.
The young athletes from both Olympic schools arrived and packed 131 boxes of food filled with all sorts of goodies during a 9-day operation at Shufersal chain branches.
As part of the operation, volunteers are responsible for encouraging network customers to purchase and donate dry goods for seniors and needy families.
The food collection drives that are common during holidays and familiar to the general public, play a central role in collecting food used for the year-round aid system, in addition to raising public awareness about poverty and food insecurity in Israel.
The collaboration between the “Latet” Association and the Olympic Committee in Israel is a fruitful and highly successful partnership, and the students of the Olympic class are always received with great joy and love at the network’s branches throughout the activity days.
