The second Year of “Olympism” Program Kicks Off in the Golan Heights Druze Communities to Scout Next Generation of Sports Talent
The second year of the Olympism program—a flagship initiative by the Olympic Committee of Israel designed to identify and nurture young sports talent within the Druze community-officially commenced in the Golan Heights.
The launch featured two dedicated talent-scouting days across four Druze villages: Ein Qiniyya, Majdal Shams, Bu’qata, and Mas’ade.
The scouting events drew approximately 350 fourth and fifth-grade students from seven local schools, all of whom demonstrated outstanding commitment, high motivation, and exemplary sportsmanship.
The evaluation days were led by the Israeli School Sports Federation, working in close coordination with the Elite Sport Department, the Israeli Athletic Association, the Israel Cycling Federation, the Physical Education Department, local schools, and municipal sports departments.
The success of these events underscores the powerful collaboration among all stakeholders.
Special recognition goes to the physical education teachers and coaches whose daily guidance and support inspire these young athletes on their journey toward excellence.
The program operates in partnership with the Ministry of Culture and Sport and the Ministry of Education, with the generous support of the Azrieli Foundation’s SSI program.
