In light of the complex year Israeli sport has experienced, and given the many absences and cancelations of delegations due to the security situation and antisemitism in the world, it was decided this year to forgo the selection of the athletes and coaches of the year.
During the evening, they celebrated the impressive achievement of Tamar Steinberg, who won a silver medal at the IQ FOIL World Championships, and her coach Shahar Tzuberi – a bronze medalist from Beijing.
The ceremony marked the end of a challenging but resilient and successful year, and Wasserman’s visit to Israel was a moving and significant moment for the Israeli sports community.
