As part of the “Olympic Class” program, initiated by Olympic medalist Arik Zeevi and managed by the Olympic Committee of Israel, students from the Yitzhak Shamir Municipal High School participated in a unique Olympic workshop led by Rivka Elisha, Yarden Har Lev, Yuval Freilich, and Imri Ganiel.
In the first part of the workshop, students worked at stations inspired by Olympic values, which included content on topics such as safety in sports, fair play, integrity in sports, and Olympic knowledge. At the end, a competition was held between the different teams.
In the second part of the workshop, the students participated in an experiential activity on track bikes with Israeli national team coach Niv Livner, while simultaneously taking part in a special training session focusing on physical abilities led by Olympic coach Yoav Azrad.
The Olympic Class is the first educational framework of its kind in Israel, enabling outstanding athletes aspiring to excellence in the field of competitive sports to pursue a full academic curriculum.
