Sport, Education and the Environment Came Together This Morning at Achziv Beach

Olympic fencer Yuval Freilich, 15 athletes from the Israeli artistic swimming team, and approximately 75 third-grade students from Maayanot Kabri School took part in a joint beach cleanup initiative led by EcoOcean and the Israel Olympic Committee.

The participants collected waste along the shoreline and learned about marine pollution, the impact of waste on the marine environment, and the responsibility each of us has to protect it.

The activity took place as part of Cleanup Week ahead of World Cleanup Day, which will be held on September 20 and bring together millions of volunteers around the world for a global environmental initiative.

Because responsibility, engagement and leading by example begin beyond the pool and the fencing piste, too.
