The Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games – Gold Medal All-Around

Linoy Ashram was born and raised in Rishon LeZion. She started training in rhythmic gymnastics at the age of 7.

Even before she started winning competitions, it was important for them to emphasize how her background (Yemeni-Greek), which is not typical for those in rhythmic gymnastics, strengthens her and motivates her to prove she can succeed.

And success did indeed come on the biggest and most important stages in the world of sports.

Ashram won 11 medals at World Championships, including 6 silver and 5 bronze, and another 3 medals at European Championships, including one gold and 2 bronze. Ashram won 47 medals in her career at World Cup events, including 3 gold medals in the combined event.

She is the only Israeli in the sport to have won a medal in the all-around competition at both the Olympic Games and the World Championships.

At the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Ashram won the gold medal in the individual all-around competition, ahead of her main rivals, the Russian sisters Dina and Arina Averina.

In March 2022, Ashram announced her retirement from competitions.

On April 4, 2022, the retirement was officially announced at a press conference, and her joining the coaching staff of the Israeli rhythmic gymnastics teams was also announced.

Since her retirement, Linoi has been in high demand for lectures and has also been cast in the Festigal and the television show “The Masked Singer” and “Dancing with Stars”.
