Atlanta 1996
The Olympic Games in Atlanta, USA in 1996 marked 100 years since the revival of the modern Olympic Games.
10,230 athletes from 197 countries participated in the games, to which several new sports were added: women’s football and futsal, beach volleyball, and mountain biking.
The Israeli delegation consisted of 25 athletes, with Gal Friedman standing out as he won a bronze medal in Mistral sailing, and Danny Krasnov who reached the pole vault final.
