Last night the 54th memorial ceremony was held for the eleven Munich victims — members of the Israeli delegation to the 1972 Munich Olympics — who were murdered by terrorists.
The ceremony was held, as it is every year, at the Eleven Square (Rehavat HaYud-Alef) in Tel Aviv–Yafo, hosted by Olympic medalist Arik Zeevi, with the participation of the families of the eleven victims and members of the delegation.
The event was attended by Minister of Culture and Sport Miki Zohar, Chairwoman of the Israeli Olympic Committee Yael Arad, CEO of the Israeli Olympic Committee Adi Bichman, Deputy Mayor of Tel Aviv–Yafo Adv. Guy Daniel Avner, Deputy Ambassador of Germany to Israel Helena Marx, coaches, referees, athletes, representatives of the Israeli sports world, and the HaChoresh Scouts troop.
We will remember and not forget.
